Now available in paperback is the New York Times bestselling debut YA novel FINDING AUDREY (Ember / on sale May 3, 2016 /$9.99) from internationally bestselling author Sophie Kinsella. Kinsella, the author of such favorites as the Shopaholic series, Can You Keep a Secret?, Wedding Night, and Remember Me?, introduced readers to 14-year-old Audrey Turner, a teen in the throes of a severe social anxiety disorder after a bullying incident at school, and following her journey to rediscovering herself and her happiness. Receiving much critical acclaim from reviewers and fans, the book was hailed as “heartfelt,” “engaging,” and “relatable.” The paperback retails for $9.99 and is sure to garner a wider group of fans with this new, accessible edition.

Audrey spends most of her days hiding behind her dark sunglasses and in the safety of her own home, surrounded by her lovable but chaotic family. Interaction with non–family members has been almost impossible to master since the incident at school. But then one day Linus arrives at her house. A friend of her brother’s, Linus makes an instant connection with Audrey and starts to chip away at her exterior, exposing the girl underneath—the girl Audrey herself has been searching for. What results is a tender love story that begins as a friendship and continues in the local Starbucks, where Audrey begins to heal the wounds that have threatened to hold her captive.

Filled with poignancy and laugh-out-loud moments, FINDING AUDREY gives readers a character they can relate to and a family to embrace. Kinsella’s story tackles serious topics with humor and heart and creates the next YA couple to root for in Audrey and Linus.

Sophie Kinsella raced into the UK bestseller lists in September 2000 with her first novel in the Shopaholic series - The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic (also published as Confessions of a Shopaholic). The book’s heroine, Becky Bloomwood – a fun and feisty financial journalist who loves shopping but is hopeless with money – captured the hearts of readers worldwide.  Becky has since featured in six further bestselling books, Shopaholic Abroad (also published as Shopaholic Takes Manhattan), Shopaholic Ties the Knot, Shopaholic & Sister, Shopaholic & Baby, Mini Shopaholic and now Shopaholic to the Stars! Becky Bloomwood came to the big screen in 2009 with the hit Disney movie Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Sophie has also written six standalone novels which have all been bestsellers in the UK, USA and other countries around the world: Can You Keep A Secret?, The Undomestic Goddess, Remember Me?, Twenties Girl, I've Got Your Number and her most recent standalone book, Wedding Night.

Sophie wrote her first novel under her real name, Madeleine Wickham, at the tender age of 24, whilst she was working as a financial journalist. The Tennis Party was immediately hailed as a success by critics and the public alike and became a top ten bestseller. She went on to publish six more novels as Madeleine Wickham: A Desirable Residence, Swimming Pool Sunday, The Gatecrasher, The Wedding Girl, Cocktails for Three and Sleeping Arrangements.

She submitted her first ‘Sophie Kinsella’ novel anonymously to her existing publishers and it was snapped up without her editors knowing that she was already one of their authors. It wasn’t until the appropriately titled Can You Keep a Secret? was published that Sophie revealed her true identity for the first time.

Sophie was born in London. She studied music at New College, Oxford, but after a year switched to Politics, Philosophy and Economics. She now lives in London, UK, with her husband and family.

Blog Tour: Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

Everything, Everything
Author: Nicola Yoon
Reading Level: Young Adult
Genre: Contemporary
Released: September 1st 2015
Review Source: Delacorte Books for Young Readers

This innovative, heartfelt debut novel tells the story of a girl who’s literally allergic to the outside world. When a new family moves in next door, she begins a complicated romance that challenges everything she’s ever known. The narrative unfolds via vignettes, diary entries, texts, charts, lists, illustrations, and more.

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

The cover of Everything, Everything is beautiful but the story… well I’m not much of a fan of using .gif on reviews but I can only picture the Doctor saying:

Yes, FANTASTIC.

Everything, Everything is indeed EVERYTHING.

The feelssss.

You will feel sadness, joy, love, pain, my God, this book had me in tears within the first two pages!

This beautiful-written novel is about a girl named Madeline. She was diagnosed with a rare immunological disease that prevents her from living. She is supervised 24/7 and she is also unable to leave her house. Yes, she is like the bubble boy. She has serious of allergies which are not determined. Totally suck-able because if she is expose to any germs her body cannot fight it and... she can die from anything and/or everything easily. Since she is unable to leave her house, she doesn't have any friends. Sure she goes to online school, she may have online classes, her blog followers may read her very-spoilers reviews, but at the end of the day, she doesn't have anyone to visit her or talk to. Until Olly arrives...

*GAH - the tears*

Since Madeline is very sick, her mother is extremely protective of her. Like any other mother would do in her shoe. Sometimes too over protective. What can I say, when a mother wants nothing but to keep her baby safe, she will do CRAZY things.

When you read the things Madeline is unable to do, trust me, you will be thankful. For the simple and complex things you are able to do. Even the fact of going outside to take fresh air. Unlike us, Madeline is unable to anything. Until Olly arrived. This is when Madeline was willing to take risks and be exposed to the unknown. I loved how she was willing to give life a chance, even though life has not granted her any. She gave life meaning and with Olly, these two will make you feel whole. Seriously, Maddy and Olly were perfect for each other.

And no, I will not tell you more about these two, because you need to read Everything, Everything. You'll be glue reading this epic story.

Whether you’re a fan of contemporary or not, you need to add this on top of your TBR.  I recommend this to everyone and I hope all of you will love it as much as I did.

Audrey can talk through her fears with Linus in a way she’s never been able to do with anyone before. As their friendship deepens and her recovery gains momentum, a sweet romantic connection develops, one that helps not just Audrey but also her entire family.

Finding Audrey is finding happiness. A wonderful YA debut by the amazing Sophie Kinsella. The story deals with many serious topics, such as anxiety disorders and bullying. Although the context is serious, the story is easily told. As you will find yourself laughing, well at least in my case. With such ease, this book will warm your heart. When I finished the story, I found myself smiling.

As we begin the story, Audrey introduces herself. Quickly we learn she is a fifteen year old girl who wears shades, even while she is inside her home. A reason unknown until later on. As Audrey invites you to her home, she begins telling us about her family. She tells us about her mother’s obsession with a magazine. And how she implies everything to her daily routine. She also tells us about her brother, whom is also obsessed, but with online gaming.

Little by little, Audrey peels the layers of her life – well, what she allows us to see. She tells us about her therapy and how she is trying to regain her confidences after being bullied. There is no need to know the details, as we all know being bullied is hard.

Throughout her journey to her recovery, Audrey is drawn to a dorky-adorable boy named Linus. He helps her step out of her shell. He was encouraging and patient. Audrey learned to live her life again with his help.
As I learned more about Audrey, I felt a need to hug her. I wanted to find out why she’s this broken. Yet, at the same time, I knew the reason why she wanted us, the reader to wait. She didn’t want us to feel sorry for her. She wanted someone to confide her story with. A friend. A friend that would respect her privacy, which is why I believed Audrey never felt the need to go into details of this terrible experience of hers.

I truly enjoyed Finding Audrey. Reading this story felt real to me, an experience of meeting a person in such short time. Audrey was real. Finding Audrey is told in her perspective, more like she chatting with us. Like we were a ghost following her every step, even into her therapy sessions. What I loved most about Audrey is how she was constantly trying to get better.

Overall, I already recommended this book to all my book bloggers friends. And I recommend this to you. It is a remarkable journey of a girl wanting to live her life again.

Book Review: The Unlikely Hero of Room 13B by Teresa Toten

The Unlikely Hero of Room 13B
Author: Teresa Toten
Reading Level: Young Adult
Genre: Contemporary
Released: March 10, 2015
Review Source: Delacorte Books for Young Readers

Deep, understated, and wise, this engaging YA novel, winner of the Governor General’s Award in Canada, is about more than the tough issue of teens dealing with obsessive-compulsive order. It also has romance, and a whodunit element that will keep readers guessing. Perfect for readers who love Eleanor & Park!

Adam Spencer Ross is almost fifteen, and he’s got his hands full confronting the problems that come with having divorced parents and new stepsiblings. Add to that his obsessive-compulsive disorder and it’s just about impossible for him to imagine ever falling in love. Adam’s life changes, however, the instant he meets Robyn Plummer: he is hopelessly, desperately drawn to her. But is it possible to have a normal relationship when your life is anything but?

Filled with moments of deep emotion and unexpected humor, The Unlikely Hero of Room 13B explores the complexities of living with OCD and offers the prospect of hope, happiness, and healing.

I just love it when books like this fall in my lap! The storyline was spot on...the characters were outstanding...and the writing was superb. Teresa Toten has hit it out of the park with this one and I'm so glad that I get to share it with you!! I was blown away from page one and I couldn't put it down. The main reason I keep reading a book is because of the writing. If it isn't there, I'm done before I even started. This book was amazing and caught my attention from the very first page.

When I first started reading this book I felt like I was reading The Fault in our Stars, which is a good thing, because it's about a group of kids who have severe cases of OCD who meet in a support group to talk about it. I mean, like severe cases. Like I can't go on with my day until I've brushed my hair exactly thirty-five times or turned on and off the lights in the bathroom exactly twenty times. Adam is the main character in the book and it opens in his support group where he meets Robyn, the love of his life, or so what he wants. This love feeling is new to him and he's not quite sure how to handle it. He has major OCD and anxiety and I love how you see everything through his eyes even though it's written in third person.

The characters were so spot on. Adam and Robyn were my favorite of course, but I loved all of the quirky kids in the support group. The superhero theme runs through the book because they all choose superhero names to call each other. It's kind of cute because they choose heros that relate to them. I also like how they start to come out of their shells and start to help each other out instead of just sitting there. I remember counting my steps when I was younger or not stepping on cracks, but that's nothing compared to what these kids have to face on a daily basis. The research that Toten had to do and keep it going through the book probably took forever, but it paid off for her in the end.

I also loved the book because it had a family. Yes, there are books out there that have family in them, but lately it's like the parents are distant or not even there. I loved the relationship he had with his little brother "Sweetie." It made me giggle sometimes and I caught myself smiling during the scenes that they were in together. I can totally relate to his mother as well. She has major anxiety like Adam and is a hoarder. My mother-in-law is a hoarder and I didn't quite understand her until I read this book. A lot of the things that I saw in the mom, I see in her. I was emotional during the family parts to say the least.

Overall, I LOVED this book and can't wait for you guys to read it too. I know that I will be reading everything else that this writer has written. She is a fabulous writer and I can't get enough of her! I look forward to hearing what you guys think about it!!

Blog Tour: Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton + Giveaway

Welcome to our stop on the Seeker tour for Arwen Elys Dayton. This tour is hosted by Rockstar Book Tours.

Seeker
Seeker #1
Author: Arwen Elys Dayton
Reading Level: Young Adult
Genre: Fantasy
Released: February 10 2015
Review Source: Delacorte Books for Young Readers

For readers of A Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games comes an epic new series.

The night Quin Kincaid takes her Oath, she will become what she has trained to be her entire life. She will become a Seeker. This is her legacy, and it is an honor. As a Seeker, Quin will fight beside her two closest companions, Shinobu and John, to protect the weak and the wronged. Together they will stand for light in a shadowy world. And she'll be with the boy she loves--who's also her best friend.

But the night Quin takes her Oath, everything changes. Being a Seeker is not what she thought. Her family is not what she thought. Even the boy she loves is not who she thought.

And now it's too late to walk away.

A story that follows four main characters through a tumultuous time trying to figure out what it is exactly that they're suppose to be doing. Quin who has been in love with the idea of being a Seeker since she can remember, Shinobu - the third cousin pining for his relative, John wanting to become a Seeker to avenge his mother, and Maud a girl who gets thrown in with the Dreads by mistake, or by fate. All of their stories always end up intertwining with one another, and  slowly they start to wonder who they should really trust.

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. I went into this book excited and usually that leads you to hate the book. That was the opposite with this. I am completely in love with this story, there were a few times when I wasn't completely following the story but I didn't really miss too much. It is written akin to Game of Thrones-although I have not read GoT I have family who have, they tell me all about it and Seeker honestly made me wonder if I should give GoT a try. At first I was worried that the switching perspectives was going to ruin the whole thing for me, but honestly it just makes you more intrigued with everything that is going on within this world.

I am always a sucker for a romance, and this book wasn't heavy with the romance but it was just enough to keep me hooked. I am a fan of V.C Andrews-mainly Flowers In The Attic. So when Shinobu was first showing his feelings for Quin I was a little grossed out...then I realized I had read worse, Chris and Cathy from Flowers for example, and I had cheered for them to get together and was so angry when they hadn't. So I decided to find a way to be okay with Shinobu and Quin. Although I wanted her with John. I'm still not completely sure what happened to Quin's feelings with John, I wouldn't of made as big of a deal as she did about the athame and who had it. But I'm not sure that we've gotten the full story of what happened to Quin on her first few assignments and what made her completely change. I was also unsure of what time era we were suppose to imagine while reading, I tended to imagine Lord of the Rings type time, but then they would pull out a phone. So I'm assuming futuristic times, but I'm still unsure.

Honestly I think everyone should read this book! It may not be for everyone, but if you like Game of Thrones or fantasy tales such as that give it a shot!
