#ECCC Final Day Recap

The final day of comic con came and went and it was one of the saddest days for me. Saddest because this amazing con came to an end. I had to get back to my everyday life of work. I'm not completely ready for it yet still.

The start of our final day was actually rough. My Tom Felton photo op started at 11am...meaning we had to be leaving our hotel by 9am to get there on time. We were dragging. The night before we had gone to a place called Round 1 for some video gaming fun and we were out way too late and had to get up at 7am. You can say it's lucky that I didn't fall asleep on Tom during our photo op.

The line for the photo op was insanely long. I had thought that they put caps on the photo ops but from the looks of Tom's line the hadn't. But the wait was worth it. I got an amazing picture out of this.

It was such a quick moment with him but he was a sweetheart. He called me love as I was leaving and he seemed excited to be taking a picture with all of us fans. If you can't tell I was sporting my Hufflepuff pride. My bracelet says "Hufflepuff Loyalty" and I'm wearing a Hufflepuff bow in my hair as well.

After this we grabbed lunch before heading over to start the first of our 3 last panels. The first panel was all of the voice actors from the con talking about how to make it in the industry.

Winnie the pooh was there as well as the cast from the animaniacs, John DiMaggio and Troy Baker. They honestly had some great advice - seeing as I want to work in film I felt like their advice was still perfect for me. Even though I don't want to be a voice actor. The most prominent advice that I remember from them is Don't Ever Give Up. I know that this is something I always already tell myself, but hearing it from them and then hearing their stories of how they went to give up but kept on trying and then things worked out was definitely inspirational for me.

After this panel was Tom's panel. And his panel was hilarious.

Tom kept getting asked about how he felt that most fans shipped Draco with Harry. He seems like one of this ships biggest advocate. He kept making reference to it. Kept saying that he would love to have stolen Dan off the set. Basically made every Potter fan there squeal with excitement and adoration for their favorite bad boy with their favorite wizard.

Tom is one of the funniest people I have ever seen in a panel. And he is also one of the most genuine. When Alan Rickman got brought up it definitely made the crowd tearful but he had a hilarious story about him during filming of the 6th film.

My favorite part was when Claire - the moderator - was asking him how tough it was saying goodbye to Draco he said that he had almost started crying during this panel because it was bringing back all of the emotions that he felt. Clearly he holds Draco close to his heart.

After this we went and shopped the floor for about 2 hours before our last panel. Saw some more amazing cosplay and bought a ton of stuff because it was the last day...why not.

After this it was time for our last panel. Vincent D'Onofrio's panel. An actor who is well known by most but yet still slips through our minds sometimes when thinking of actors.

I had forgotten that this man had been in Men In Black - which he talked a little bit about how he came up with the voice of that character and the walk for that character. He had also been in Full Metal Jacket - meaning he worked with the great Stanley Kubrick. He is mainly known for having been on Law And Order though, and it was so great to hear him talk about all of his journeys in the industry.

I was sad to have to leave comic con, but I cannot wait to see what next year brings!

#ECCC Day 2 Recap

Day 2 started off with crossing something off of my bucket list.

I met the great Stan Lee. I have always wanted to meet him, and after playing the Marvel Lego video game where you save 100+ Stan Lee's and he has a cameo line for each and every one I found my favorite Stan Lee cameo. "My cameos know no bounds" is seriously one of my favorite lines ever. I told Stan Lee about this - and he then smiled so big it made my day. He said "Oh thank you so much! You're the one!" And after the picture he said "Thanks dear!" And it made my day. I was so insanely happy to meet Stan Lee finally and he is seriously one of the sweetest men I've ever met.

After my photo op with Stan Lee we walked the floor some more, my friend Karlee ran into one of her favorite Cosplays of the day.

Irisa Nolan from Defiance! And Boo from Monsters, Inc.

After that we went and saw 4 and a half panels. The first panel was of the image comics founders and them talking about what they'd done for the last 25 years and what they're most proud of. After that was John DiMaggio's panel. The man who brought Bender from Futurama to life.

He talked to us all about his different characters. I loved hearing about bender on Futurama because that's my favorite character of his. He has also voiced some characters on Final Fantasy X and on Adventuretime as Jake the Dog.

After John's panel came the Animaniacs. I was mainly excited for the voice actors of Pinky and The Brain!

They talked all about the cartoons that I grew up watching every morning on the weekends. Also they've all acted in other shows such as The Simpsons, Futurama, and so that was interesting to see.

The next panel was a Guardians of the Galaxy panel, that soon turned into a Gilmore Girls' panel.

Mainly because of this man. Sean Gunn. Michael Rooker was there as well. But most of the questions ended up being about Gilmore Girls.

This panel was actually pretty hilarious. Michael Rooker is quiet funny and was definitely the star of the show. But it was amazing to see Sean and hear about the Guardians of the Galaxy 2...or at least what they could tell us about it anyways. Which honestly wasn't much!

The last panel of the day was Jeremy Renner's. And let's be honest. I stayed for this panel just because I knew that I would find his stories about the Avengers interesting. What I didn't expect was for me to leave a huge Jeremy Renner fan. He is an amazing actor, we've all seen him and love him as Hawkeye.

But honestly the human being that he is makes him super lovable. He has an amazing spirit and soul, you can tell just by how he answers things. He's super in love with his child and you can tell she is his number 1 priority. While he loves his job his daughter is his go to person. And that made me love him even more. And then how he talks about films and how he chooses roles to portray made me love him. My favorite answer from him was how he chooses roles to play. His answer was "I want to go into it not knowing what I'm doing. I want to conquer the fear of the unknown. To find the truth within that character, within the unknown. If I've played that character before and it becomes something I know, I don't want to play it." And that....that answer made me adore Jeremy.

On our way out of the convention we saw an amazing cosplay of Mojo Jojo from The Powerpuff Girls as well.

Today was a blast. But tomorrow....tomorrow I meet my all time favorite horror movie villain....Freddy Kreuger!

#ECCC Day 1

Day 1 of Emerald City Comic Con was a success! My friend and I literally just shopped the floor for the first half of the day. I came out with some awesome stuff though.

After we shopped for the first half of it we went and watched a light saber battle. It was awesome, and I had thought that I would be able to learn how to wield a lightsaber...but it was actually only for children...

But then we saw this amazing Star Wars exhibit that we were able to go through that had a ton of props and things for us to get our picture with.

And after this exhibit we saw a Lego exhibit that had a ton of cool different fandom like scenes built out in Legos!

After that we did two panels. The first one was all about Joss Whedon and the universe's that he has created. And where certain authors are taking his beloved characters from the Buffy series and the Firefly series!

And the last panel was this hilarious improv group that created a Star Trek scene based on the suggestions from the audience!

We also saw some AMAZING Cosplays today!

All in all today was great. But tomorrow starts off with meeting Stan Lee...I'm not sure any day will top tomorrow. But I cannot wait to see how the rest of the con plays out!
