Reading Nook of the Week: Britney at Living Fictitiously

Reading Nook of the Week

Today we are happy to bring you Britney from Living Fictitiously blog. So lets take a look at where Britney likes to do her reading.

My reading nook is my couch. This particular corner of my couch. I live in a tiny apartment so I don't really have a lot of options, but this corner of the couch is my favorite. As you can tell from the pictures, when I'm not utilizing my nook, my dog uses it as his "nappy place" as I call it. When I'm ready to read, I turn on my lamp, cover up with my blanket, and Cole (my dog) curls up next to me under the blanket. It's the perfect spot.

In the winter, I light a fire in the fireplace right next to the couch and get all nice a cozy. My favorite time to curl up in my nook is on a Saturday or Sunday morning before my husband gets up with a cup of coffee and my pups. When I finally buy a house, I plan of having an entire Reading Nook Room!

Reading Nook of the Week

Today we welcome OUaT Coven reviewer, Monica. She is showing us her favorite reading spot.

My favorite reading nook is probably my bed. I snuggle up in my nook with my Nook! :) My dogs usually are present and just snuggle up with me and I usually read an hour or so before bed because I just cant seem to put my Nook down. Another favorite reading nook is in my comfy computer chair. I just lean back and put some music on my computers speakers and just read to my hearts content. I'm not one of those people that can't listen to music and read, i like having background music while reading. I can usually read without singing the words instead of reading my book. I also love reading while on long trips so cars are probably a fave place to read. If I'm driving for a long period of time I've just started to read audio books so those keep me company while I'm driving. I've found them to be amazingly fun and just having the words read to me is awesome! In all reality my favorite reading nook can just be about anywhere my Nook is present with my book of choice at the moment. Reading is my favorite past time and anywhere i can read is just my favorite place in the world!

Cushion Chair

It was really hard for me to pick one place as my favorite place for reading, since I seem to always have my nose in a book (yes, even while I am making the 15 minute walk from the parking garage to the office where I work and back again at the end of the day). Don't worry, I am careful and I don't read while crossing the street or if the sidewalks are icy (or when it is raining or snowing, obviously, since I don't want to ruin any books). I also prop whatever book I'm currently reading up on the bathroom sink while getting ready (hair, make up, etc.) or leave it open on the floor and read while I'm drying my hair with a blow-dryer. Sometimes I can be found reading in my cushy recliner in the living room at home, or in a variety of locations inside and outside of the building where I work. I often listen to audio books in the car on my commute to and from work, too. I also recently purchased a nook and have a variety of e-reader apps

Chair at work
on my Android phone and tablet, so I have a way to read something no matter where I go or what I'm doing. But if I had to pick the place where I read the most (and is usually the most comfy), it would have to be in my bed. I try to read for about 30 minutes before going to sleep every night. If I'm reading a real page turner, I end up staying up way too late telling myself, "Oh, just one more chapter and then I'll go to sleep." Ever find yourself doing the same thing? I know many of you are nodding your heads. :) I have two different reading lights and rechargeable batteries, so I am always ready to read after the lights go out. I even have a reading light for my nook. Those of you who have reading lights know how bright they can be, so I sometimes have to put the covers over my head while I read so I don't disturb my husband when he is trying to sleep. :) Very much like how I used to read in bed as a kid/teenager when I was supposed to be sleeping. ;)

Reading Nook of the Week

Today we welcome OUaT Coven reviewer, Jenny. She is showing us her favorite reading spot.

My favorite reading nook would have to be my couch. I have recliners on all the seats so I open it up, grab a throw blanket and a pillow and I am all set. This usually happens at night, once my daughter and husband are sound asleep and the house it entirely quiet. Otherwise, I will be interrupted several times and I do not like being interrupted. Especially if I'm reading an eBook from my Ipad and my daughter see's me (for some reason she believes it's hers! I guess it's because she uses it the most lol). If I'm tired, I tend to read in bed. But this doesn't happen very often, otherwise I will be dreaming instead of reading. lol.

Reading Nook of the Week: Author Stacy Juba

Reading Nook of the Week

Today we welcome Author Stacy Juba. She is showing us her favorite reading spot today.

My favorite reading nook is anywhere that I can snuggle up with a pillow and a blanket, usually my bed or the living room couch.

When I read in bed, it's usually for a few stolen moments while my family is occupied or while I'm waiting for my husband to come watch TV. Reading on the couch is a special luxury as it means that I've worked through my to-do list and have some uninterrupted time for myself. I'll wrap myself under the crocheted pink afghan and immerse myself in a book. If I'm reading a real page-turner of a print book, I'll stick to that, otherwise I might finish a chapter or two and then catch up on the ebook downloads filling up my Sony e-reader. It's not uncommon for me to be in the middle of two or three novels at the same time.

Sometimes my schedule gets busy, but I always make time to steal precious moments in one of my reading nooks.

Stacy Juba is the author of the adult mystery novels Twenty-Five Years Ago Today and Sink or Swim. She also blogs at the Mysteries, Murder & More blog at http://stacyjuba.com/blog/blog/.

Reading Nook of the Week: Kate from A Reader's Ramblings

Reading Nook of the Week

Hi everyone, we are back with a new edition of Reading Nook of the Week. We bring you Kate from A Reader's Ramblings blog. Wait until you see the pictures she has provide us today. They are amazing.

I read all the time- at home on the couch, in the bed, in the tub, while waiting for meetings and appointments- if I have a free moment I'll either have the Book or the Nook out! The place I read the most is my couch. You'll find me most nights with a bowl of snacks at my side and the TV on in the background reading a good book.

However, that is not my favorite place to read. My favorite place to read is also at one of my favorite vacation spots. We go to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Tetons National Park as often as possible and when I'm there I love to grab a book and read whenever we have a free minute. My absolute favorite spot is just outside of the parks at a pull off called Schwabacher's Landing- with a view like that, how can you not love reading there!?

So was I right? Aren't those pictures just beautiful. Thank you Kate for sharing with us today. Make sure you stop by A Reader's Ramblings blog and check out some Vlogs that Kate has done.

Reading Nook of the Week: Author Killian McRae

Reading Nook of the Week

Today we are happy to welcome Author Killian McRae. She is the author of the book 12.21.12. Let's see where Killian likes to read or even write.

My favorite place to read is actually in my bed. I have a stack of books next to me on the table, as I imagine many of you do. At this moment: “If you follow me” by Malena Watrous, “Cleopatra: A Life” by Stacy Schiff, and “Myths and Legends: An Illustrated Guide to their origins and meanings,” by Philip Wilkinson. But these printed pages I rarely ever touch, for I am an e-reader, and my trusty iPad is never far away.

This is my pod- where I both read and write (sometime accompanied by the dog).

I love that chair and look how cute the dog is. Thanks for sharing with us today. Make sure to stop by Killian's Website and say hello to her. Then if you havent yet, you must read her book 12.21.12. Its awesome. you can read my review HERE.

Reading Nook of the Week: Andrea at Bookmarked Memories

Reading Nook of the Week

Today we are happy to bring you Andrea from Bookmarked Memories blog. I think quite a few of us will like the pictures she will be sharing with us today.

I have two places where I frequently read.
First is my bed. It is so comfy and I love to be surrounded with all my pillows and blankets. And of course Edward is standing over me to keep an eye out ;-) My room is one place where I can escape and have a little peace and quiet. The only bad thing about my bed being my favorite reading spot is that I can never fall asleep when I need to. Normally a person would think its the opposite; Lay down to read a book and fall asleep, but for me I lay in my bed to sleep and all I want to do is read.

Second is my car.
Odd place to read, I know. But I have a good reason. I'm a student and I go straight from class to my internship everyday. I have an hour in-between the two so instead of going home I pull into the hospital parking garage and read in my car. I'm sure if someone saw me they would laugh, but I get quite a bit of reading done since its quiet. I get distracted too easily to read where there is noise and lots of people so it's the perfect reading spot!

Thank you Andrea for sharing with us your special spots. I think its great that Edward is there with you when you are reading. Make sure to stop by Andrea's blog and check out her pictures from The Water for Elephants Red Carpet in NYC.

Reading Nook of the Week: Lori from Romancing the Darkside

Reading Nook of the Week

Hi everyone today we welcome Lori from Romancing the Darkside blog. So lets take a look at where Lori likes to do her reading.

I can read anywhere from on vacation on a sunny beach to the crowded NYC subways, but my favorite place to do my reading is in my bedroom. My room is my sanctuary, it's quiet, comfy and where I keep my book collection so there's always a book around. Sometimes I'll light a scented candle or two for a more relaxing ambiance. I love to do my reading at night when I can read without interruption and have been known to stay in bed on the weekends and squeeze in a few chapters before my day begins...my Nook is always at arms reach on my nightstand for this very reason. Unwinding with a great book and a cup of tea in my room is the perfect ending to my day!

Great spots and I see some great books. The lighting is very bright, good for reading. Thanks for sharing with us today. Everyone make sure they stop by and say Hello to Lori over at Romancing the Darkside, its her Birthday today.  Lori is having a 100 Follower + Birthday Celebration giveaway on her blog, Click HERE to join in the fun.

Reading Nook of the Week: Author Jennifer Lane

Reading Nook of the Week

Help me welcome today to Reading Nook of the Week, Author Jennifer Lane. She has written The Conduct Series. Let see where Jennifer reads and possibly writes her book ideas.

Yara, thanks so much for inviting me to share my favorite reading nook! Juggling two careers leaves me less time for reading than I’d like, so I sometimes multi-task by reading on the recumbent exercise bike. Here’s my Nook sitting on the bike:

And here’s me pedaling away while reading about a yummy man in uniform in Suzanne Brockman’s Hawken’s Heart. (This poor woman at the gym must’ve thought I was NUTS asking her to take my photo while reading on the bike!)

And sometimes I read on my comfy sofa, where I also do the bulk of my writing. My cat/reading companion Izzie wasn’t a fan of the photo op, and she’s trying to escape.

What a great sport the lady that took your picture. Thanks for sharing with us today. These are great spots. Make sure to stop by and say Hello to Jennifer on her blog or twitter.

Reading Nook of the Week: Lauren from 365 Days of Reading

Reading Nook of the Week

Welcome everyone, today we bring you Lauren from 365 Days of Reading blog. Let see where Lauren does her reading.

I have two places where I love to read, the first of which is my bed. It’s just so comfy! I love to snuggle up in the blankets and immerse myself in a good book. I actually go to bed early every night just to make sure that I have at least an hour to read.

The second place I like to read is here, in my living room. When it’s cold out, we light the fire (but it’s been warm lately, so you’ll have to use your imagination!). I really like the homey feel that reading by the fire gives me.

That’s pretty much it! Thanks for having me! :)

Thanks for sharing with us today Lauren. The chair next to the fireplace seems like a great place for reading. Make sure to stop by Lauren's blog and say hello. You can check out Lauren review list HERE.

Reading Nook of the Week: Stephanie at Stephanie, A History

Reading Nook of the Week

Welcome back to the next installment of Reading Nook of the week, today we bring back Stephanie from Stephanie, A History. She did a few weeks ago Once Upon a Signing. Let's see where she loves to do her reading.

Stephanie: We recently moved into a new apartment and I was so excited to go furniture shopping.  The thing I wanted most of all was a reading chair, since it would have to be something my husband would want to use too, I settled for a recliner.  I spend most of my day in this chair, either reading or writing.  Sometimes I pop the foot-rest out and stretch my legs out, but most of the time I'm curled up in it.  There's nothing like curling up in your favorite reading chair with a good book.

Yes we know how guy love their recliners. I have one as well and use it for reading sometimes. What I love the most from the picture though, is the Carebear side table, is that Tenderheart bear? I want one. Thanks Stephanie for sharing with us today. Stop by Stephanie's blog today and catch a guest post from Ben Barnes.
